Hi Peeps,

So I went to the mall today after much pestering from my mother… she wanted to go and buy a new cellphone… one of those LG sliders…

We took a quick look @ Future Shop and then proceeded to the mall… stopped at one of those kiosks. Really pleasant and clean-cut dude(had one of those ultra thin trimmed goatee/beard things going on.

It seemed like we were getting quite a cool deal and all.

It was curious that while we were still @ the mall I noticed a beaucoup of text messages… it’s like huh? He mentioned to wait a few minutes until we get a text message telling us of the successful transfer of the number to our new phone(no old sim card)… couldn’t figure out how to check the other messages while in the mall…

Okay so there were text messages sent and received in late March… it’s May 15…

and then I tool a look at dialed calls… well what do you know… April 10 a bunch of calls were made to different 778 numbers… and then I think 2 to one number on April 11…

also, when I checked the box the cellphone originally came in… it was majorly dented in the middle of one side on the bottom… the little plastic bag with the recharger had a hole in it, the charger was not re-twined properly(& you know how obvious it is when you try to re-work a cord, it doesn’t look right…) and the stickers that had previously sealed the bag were all over the bag… the other cords looked okayish… the one with the ear buds was un evenly put back together… and one ear bud was scratched slightly and the other one had some white caked on thing…

so what do you recommend me to do?

Curiously, I read the return policy and it states that as lon as you don’t use the phone for over 30 minutes and it’s within the time frame of, I think, 30 days from the date of purchase you can exchange or return the phone… well, the phone has been used for 04:16:06… in other words for freaking FOUR HOURS sixteen minutes and six seconds…!!!! I checked the call duration function… the “All Calls” part… I only used it to dial home while at the mall to leave a short answering machine message for my younger sister… and think about this… this purchase happened @ ~7:15 PM… so there’s no way I used up that much time myself!

I’m think of asking for a new phone for myself(for free of course). Do you think the media would like to pick up on this “frivolous” story?

I did have a pleasant experience overall…

What to do…

I already thought of going back and aking fun of the guy and the situation… oh well.

It’s funny how my mom left FIDO for a VERY bad customer service experience and we had both forgotten that ROGERS had bought FIDO… until Shawn(oops did I just give his name away…?) mentioned that it was easy to change the number since we were with FIDO and ROGERS owned them… so there would be so service charge for switching over… gee… ; P

So there’s my story… well, my mom’s I guess… ; P

I do like the LG Shine…

Hey now… should I try calling those numbers and send text messages to the one guy(it looks to be) who texted? And maybe try what looks to be the previous owner’s number? Or is that owners’ numbers??? So I wonder if there were TWO past users of said phone? Hmm…

Think I’ll write in somewhere to grab some freebies. I could just contact my law firm of Watson, Goepel, Maledy… lots of options I’d say… a the very least I’m having fun just thinking about this… ; P

Thanks for letting me kind’a rant…

God Bless,
Yoon

P.S. There was something fishy about him trying to get my mom interested in the Sony Ericsson sliding phone… and should have clued in to something when he said “it’s the last one we have” when grabbing the LG Shine box from under the counter compartment area(whatever you call it…)

P.P.S. It was funny how he mentioned how he had bought his dad a really good Bluetooth for $149.99… “want me to go downstairs & get you one…?”… the one we bought was $149.99… plus our sweet discount so it was a great deal nonetheless, but still… if it was really that good and we were buying a not-so-good one for the same price… he could have just gone and got the better one for us…! But hey, maybe he didn’t know the price of the one we were buying… I assumed that it would have been less… OH WELL!

P.P.P.S. It’s strange that the phone would be charged to two out of three bars…
