Hi Peeps,
Just back in from a trip to Denny’s after a bible study@ Willingdon.
So David passes me my copy of T.D. Jakes’ “Loose That man & Let him Go!”
We started by reading what many of you will recognize as the LOVE Chapter from 1+ Corinthians 13:1-13. Dave asked a series of questions based on the verses and we shared a number of examples relating to what we had read.
What was really cool is that I met two new people: James and Jessica, we all joked about James being my new best friend. ; P
The main question was “Which part jumps out @ you”.
After we finished discussing a number of things I mentioned the whole “you used to do things as a child, acted like a child, etc.” and how it was like Dave’s example of children wanting a cookie and the parent saying “No” Kid responds with “Why not” Repeat a number of times… where God will tell us to Love people but we’ll go “Why?” just like a child. And be immature and selfish, etc. doing, acting, believing, characteristics in all the areas that are anethema to Love(Charity in the King James Version).
Me. me. me. Time to get your focus off yourself and onto acting on love which is charity…
And then we open the book finally and what do you know… Chapter One’s titile is “When I Was A Child” with the verse heading from 1 Corinthians 13:11 which I stated as being the verse that I noticed most…
“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
1 Corinthians 13:11
Wow. Is that a ever a Cool Christian Coincidence… or as a former head of ABC says “It’s a God Wink”…
God Bless,
Yoon
P.S. It was really cool seeing the girls again @ Denny’s
