Hi Yoonites,

Thanks to a girl named Heather for organizing bowling for Friday night. More people than were invited showed up so that was pretty cool. The only real downside to it -besides the weirdness part I’ll get to later - was not mixing the teams after the first game…

anyways…

I had a birthday cake prepared in the morning for Todd and Adam. Todd cancelled his b-day plans last weekend and Adam had his last week but we all couldn’t get together to celebrate… I went to get my hair done by my fave hair-dresser My-Le who remembered me as a Michael… I should have said “close… it’s Yoon…” ; P

Since Heather was sick all of a sudden I thought it would be cool to just get her a card, a helium filled “Get Well Soon” balloon <==should have taken a pic of it…Q and 3-scratch ‘n wins… the main one was supposed to be a Scrabble one but instead there was a sportsfuner hockey cross-word one… I’m like “dude you got the wrong one”… Cary “they didn’t have that one, you said to get $3 ones…” nice how he decided to buy gum with my money too… I was in the back seat of a 2-door car and didn’t want to get out… next time I’ll send a real man to… ah whatever… ; P

Okay so we get there.

Right away one guy comes up and says “Who’s that for?” pointing @ the balloon and all… Great… mind you the feeling of weirdness happened just before this… I should have just gone straight to Heather and given her the balloon and gift bag w/ smiley face tissue… yes, I’m not like most other guys when giving gifts… oh yeah, so I had the gift bag w/ weighted balloon and cake inside a LaSenza bag…

I didn’t really say Hi to Heather or her other friends?

Oh yeah so W(the aforementioned inquisitor, that’s what it felt like, with the whole look on his face like ‘hm-mm who’s it for I bet it’s for one of the girls…’ and since only one of them seemed to be sick…) - *just forgot what I was about to write -

I went to play arcade games.

Came back to group who were standing on other side of counter and in front… I crossed past the girls(they didn’t look @ me, I didn’t look at them, and now it felt even weirder)

So in comes J. He goes “Who’s that for…?” Oh NO!!!! Here we go again!!!” *oh yeah W and now J. obviously weren’t satisfied w/ my answer… “someone…” J went on the attack and wouldn’t take my vague answers… I tried to give him the run around with “uh, for someone who is sick…”
J. “You mean someone that’s here”. Dude will you let up already now…?!? Nope.

“So it’s not for you?” Since I refuse to lie… “nope”

Added detail: this was a group from Nexus, from Willingdon, church in Burnaby, small group bible study… so you can imagine the uncomfort I felt about being interrogated and thinking that everyone else is thinking… he likes her… and all that comes with that line of thinking in an adult church group setting…

So I just go to her and drop the bag into the seat right in front of Heather and go “this is from me and Todd” <==he did write in the card after all which was probably a life-saver too then I could always go “Well, Todd gave it too…”

So I turn around and who do I see but W with the HUGEST GRIN on his face w/ “Alright…” and his fist straight out towards me in, I think, in full view of Heather… oh no… a sinking feeling(well, not quite that)… and I’m like “it’s not like that and refused to fist him back… to his utter disappointement I’m sure…

now one problem with EVERYONE seeing me enter with a balloon like that AND actually having TWO GUYS ask about it - READ: as in just imagine what the other people were thinking…!!! - was the balloon in the air on her lane’s table as a constant reminder of sorts that “Yoon gave Heather a gift…”

A few mins later while I was in a deep conversation with W she was standing there and then I looked at her said “Hi” or “Hey” And she said “Thanks” and we chatted a bit about her voice. Can we say FROG? ; P She apologized for interrupting our male bonding(not her words).

We said nary a word to each other since…

it was somewhat funny that she sat on the floor on the other side of her lane table while I sat on the other side of mine on the chair…

can we say the whole night was a bit awkward?

Lesson learned? Just give someone a gift immediately and don’t make it weird.

And don’t give gifts to Christian Girls in front of a group from your bible study…???

P.S. I almost forgot. Many wanted to go to Denny’s, my ride and best friend Todd didn’t want to go(I’ll explain in a future post). Unbeknownst to him I went the night before with David Lumply… shhh! don’t tell… ; P Okay. So he’s dropping me off @ my place, there’s still a bunch of snow/ice so he parks a few feet(sure Canada’a on the metric system… let’s say one metre?) away from the curb. Being that it’s a two door, hir bro get’s out of the front, Cary has to get out since I’m sitting on the far seat behind Todd, I’m getting out, trip on the seat belt, land on my back, it almost hurt but was really quite funny, Justin grabs had and helps me back up… so good thing Todd hadn’t parked next to the sidewalk…

P.P.S. So Cary had to use the loo… after he finished in my Condo, I showed him pics of a MBG… who I was right in assuming that she was Mary… she goes by her other letter… B

P.P.P.S. What can I say? I had fun regardless. Now what am I going to do for damage control…? haha! Hope it’s not “Uhh, I’ll wait and see what he says/does” or “I guess I’ll just wait to see what does or says…” the waiting game… see who cracks first… And I especially hope people don’t start feeding ideas into anyone’s head or tries to play matchmaker… knew a girl who did this… a married woman, her husband and then THREE GUYS & ONE GIRL… eventually one guy dated the girl(not sure if they still are an item)… and in case you’re wondering, yes, same Willingdon church…
